Press TV has conducted an interview with Wilmer Leon, a columnist and political commentator from Washington, to discuss police brutality against African-Americans in the United States.
The analyst maintains that discrimination against African- Americans is still “endemic” in the American society, rejecting claims by US President Barack Obama that police violence against blacks is no longer widespread in the country.
The killings of several unarmed black men by white police officers in recent years demonstrate that the US administration and institutions continue to consider the African-American community as a threat, Leon says.
He roundly criticizes the White House for attempting to solve complex social problems through unleashing police forces against the people of color.
