Israeli army uproots 300 olive trees near Nablus

In yet another provocative move, Israeli forces have uprooted 300 olive trees in the village of Salim in the east of occupied West Bank city of Nablus.

The owners of the land have so long been denied to enter their farm that is adjacent to the Israeli settlement known as Havat Skali.
And now the Israeli forces claim the land is a nature reserve.

Palestinian human rights organizations say this is part of the systematic sabotage of Palestinian lands and properties.

They say these are unjustified excuses by the Israeli army to confiscate the lands and pave the way for the expansion of illegal settlements.
Palestinians also warn that settler violence against their property has been commonplace lately but it is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

As a matter of fact, Palestinian owners of these lands have the right to appeal to the Israeli supreme court, that ultimately decide land ownership, but it seems it cannot force the Israeli army to stop its violations. As a result, the Palestinians find themselves facing land confiscation because the Israeli forces grab it by force.

All these practices are part of Israel’s wider plan to grab more Palestinian-owned land for the sake of expanding its illegal settlements and constructing more settler units in the occupied Palestinian territories. Moreover, Tel Aviv seems to be trying to degrade the Palestinians who see their land as a sign of their steadfast resistance.
