The abducted Iranian diplomat in Yemen returns home

July 23, 2013 in the Yemeni capital Sana'a, the Iranian diplomat, Noor Ahmad Nikbakht, was abducted by unidentified gunmen on his way to the Iranian embassy.
Right after the kidnapping took place, Iran spared no efforts to release the abducted diplomat and safely bring him back to the Islamic Republic.
Now on March 5, efforts by the Iranian government has led to the release of Nikbakht and his return to Iran's soil. He then went to the Intelligence Ministry.
And now after a year and eight months of being kidnapped, the Iranian diplomat is greeted by his family and Iranian government members in Iran's Intelligence ministry.
Nikbakht hailed the government's efforts in releasing him and told us about the day that the incident happened.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said the rescue operation took two months to succeed.
In a press conference, Iran's minister of Intelligence briefed the media about all the efforts, and said Tehran gave no positive response to the requests made by the terrorists who kidnapped the Iranian diplomat.
Iranian authorities also say that the Islamic republic will pursue the case to figure out the motive behind the incident.
