Imam Khomeini's Return from Exile

Iranian people have gathered in Imam Khomeini's Mausoleum on this first day of February to mark the beginning of the ten day celebration of Islamic revolution's victory, known as . People are here to pay tribute to the founder of Islamic Republic and show that after 36 years the values Imam lived his life for are still alive.
Despite all the internal and external efforts to diverge Islamic revolution of Iran from the path its founder defined for the Iranian nation, officials hold that it could resist all those plots.
36 years have passed since the dawn of Islamic revolution, The first day of February 1979, millions of People got together to welcome Imam Khomeini's return from Paris. After fourteen years in exile, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi's departure, made people more eager for Imam Khomeini's return to Iranian soil. It was a cold winter and various threats were made by then prime minister, Shahpour Bakhiar, but people neither felt the coldness of the weather nor were they afraid of threats. Imam entered Iran. He left the Airport for Behesht-e Zahra cemetery to pay respect to those who sacrificed their lives to make this day happen. In a historical speech, Imam stated that he would appoint a state with the nation's support and would act against the government of that time.
Military Force took its tanks on the streets, ready for another massacre. It was February the 10th at 2 p.m. a curfew was imposed and declared by Tehran's then military commander. Imam Khomeini called it illegal and asked people to ignore it. Until this day they have continued to keep what they fought for alive.
Finally on the 11th day of February 1979 the army surrendered and announced that it would no longer take part in the conflict. People' persistence paid off and the revolution succeeded
