Argentina is wading through an overflow of conflicting and at times also distorted information about the death of the special prosecutor of the AMIA case Alberto Nisman. The body of Alberto Nisman was found in his apartment near capital Buenos Aires. Hours later he was to give evidence against the President accusing her of striking a Memorandum of Understanding with Iran as an attempt to cover-up what he called Tehran’s responsibility in the bombing of the Jewish community center back in 1994.

Some people are now trying to exploit the sensitive situation to get political gains ahead the presidential election; such is the case of the right-wing Presidential candidates who are echoing the claims of pro-Israeli lobbies and urging the authorities to pin the blame on Iran and revoke the deal.

Meanwhile the Argentine president ratified the bilateral cooperation with Tehran and most of the lawmakers blasted the political misuse of Nisman's death as a means to weaken a democratic government. On the other hand, top officials ensured the investigations are being carried out with utmost transparency.

The suspicious circumstances surrounding Prosecutor Nisman's sudden call-off of his vacations abroad and his return to Argentina to level a serious judicial accusation against the President as well as several inconsistencies in the criminal complaint he was set to file, are mounting to speculations about his death. Analysts say all these facts must be taken into consideration by the judiciary and the investigators
Prominent jurists, like the former Minister of the Supreme Court Eugenio Zaffaroni, affirmed Nisman’s accusations are false and that he was probably victim of yet another attempt of intelligence services to mislead the investigation of the AMIA case.
