Operation Nasr-2: IRGC targets US warplanes, Patriot system in Jordan, Erbil

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it destroyed several US military assets in Jordan and the Erbil region of Iraq as part of the latest wave of its Operation Nasr-2 (Victory).

In a statement on Friday, the IRGC said its Aerospace Force succeeded in destroying several US fighter jets in Jordan, a Patriot air defense system, a spy balloon, and a compound of American personnel in Erbil.

It added that its Aerospace Force carried out a crushing strike on the US al-Azraq air base in Jordan, inflicting major damage on several warplanes stationed there.

According to the statement, the IRGC also hit a residence used by American military personnel, killing and wounding a number of troops.

In another “surprise” operation, the IRGC said its forces destroyed a Patriot air defense system and a US spy balloon in Erbil.

Meanwhile, a residence housing “American terrorists” in Erbil was also targeted, it noted.

The statement warned that the “bullying and illegal US regime” would face “different responses” if it continued its mischievous acts.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said it carried out new attacks against US-linked targets in Kuwait and Bahrain.

Earlier on Friday, the IRGC said its forces launched advanced heavy attack drones against the US-run Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and completed an earlier operation against an Amazon data center in Bahrain.

It also warned people in countries hosting American troops to immediately move at least 500 meters away from locations where US forces are being accommodated.

The latest developments come as the US military has conducted air raids across the country for 13 consecutive nights, targeting civilian sites including bridges and water desalination plants. The attacks have killed 55 people and injured more than 640 others. 

Iranian armed forces have retaliated against the aggression by targeting US-run bases in regional countries.
