Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei says the US military aggression against Yemen and violation of its territorial integrity are a “clear” threat to international peace and security.

In a statement on Friday, Baghaei denounced the US's “illegal and unjustifiable” airstrikes against Yemen, which killed and wounded Yemeni civilians and destroyed the country’s infrastructure.

He said the United Nations Security Council should end its inaction and silence vis-à-vis the US military operation in Yemen.

He said the US is conducting military aggression against Yemen and targeting the country’s infrastructures to retaliate against the Yemeni people’s solidarity and support for the oppressed Palestinian nation.

The Iranian spokesperson said the US attacks are a blatant violation of the principles of the UN Charter and the principled regulations of the international law.

Baghaei held the US administration accountable for committing acts of crime.

He said the US continues with its military aggression against Yemen with the logistical and intelligence cooperation of the Israeli regime.

These attacks are in line with the sinister conspiracy of the Israeli regime and its supporters to silence any solidarity with the people of Palestine, he pointed out.

Yemeni media reported on Friday morning that new strikes targeted Yemen’s capital, hitting a military facility south of Sana'a with four attacks.

Areas close to Sana'a International Airport were also hit, in addition to two districts in the south and center of Sana'a governorate.

American warplanes also conducted three raids on the Hudaydah governorate. Sa'ada governorate was the main focus of fresh US airstrikes.
