The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), a pro-Palestine advocacy organization, has filed a lawsuit in Nepal against an Israeli soldier accused of committing war crimes in Gaza.

The HRF said in a post on social media platform X on Monday it “has requested Nepal to arrest and extradite Israeli War criminal Amit Nechmya”.

According to the organization, Nechmya fled to Nepal from Argentina after a case was brought against him there by HRF.

The case is the latest in a series of lawsuits brought by the HRF, which has been pursuing justice for the Palestinian victims of the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

The group has filed several complaints in various countries against Israeli forces who participated in the genocidal war on Gaza. It also filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against 1,000 Israeli soldiers.

The foundation is named after Hind Rajab, a symbol of Gaza's suffering.

On January 29, 2024, Hind had been traveling in a car with her uncle, his wife and their three children, fleeing fighting in the neighborhood of Tel Al-Hawa in Gaza City, when they came under Israeli fire.

Trapped in the bullet-ridden vehicle and surrounded by her dead relatives, Hind begged for help from the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

Two first responders, Yousef Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun, were deployed in a bid to save Hind, but the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) soon lost contact with them, along with the little girl.

On February 10, 2024, the bodies of Hind and her relatives were found lying in the car. Just meters away, a burned-out ambulance was found with the remains of the two paramedics who tried to save the girl.

In November 2024, the International Criminal Court’s Pre-Trial Chamber I issued arrest warrants for Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant "for crimes against humanity and war crimes committed from at least 8 October 2023 until at least 20 May 2024, the day the Prosecution filed the applications for warrants of arrest.”

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its deadly war on the besieged strip.

Israel launched the campaign of genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, killing more than 50,000 Palestinians.

Last January, the Israeli regime was forced to agree to a ceasefire deal with Hamas given the regime’s failure to achieve any of its objectives, including the “elimination” of the Palestinian resistance movement or the release of captives.

Since March 18, the regime has launched strikes on Gaza, breaking the ceasefire and prisoner-captive exchange agreement that lasted nearly two months.
