July 26, 1953 marked a milestone in the history of the Cuban people and, in general, of all the peoples who throughout the 20th century and so far in the 21st have fought against imperialism: a group of young people led by Fidel Castro assaulted the Moncada barracks in the city of Santiago, and with this action began a revolutionary process that, despite the blockade and constant aggression from the United States, continues.
