Palestinian detainee Moataz Abu Zneid’s death in Israeli custody has again raised concerns over the systematic medical negligence faced by thousands of Palestinian prisoners.

The UN has expressed serious concerns over reports of rape and other forms of sexual violence against Palestinian detainees in Israeli custody.

Palestinian rights groups say Nasr Salem Said Ziyara, an elderly Palestinian prisoner from the war-ravaged Gaza Strip, has died from medical negligence at a detention center in the central part of the 1948 Israeli-occupied territories.

An independent advocacy group says a Palestinian prisoner had died due to deliberate medical negligence.

Independent and non-governmental rights organizations say another Palestinian prisoner has died in Israeli jails.  

A former Palestinian prisoner says what is happening to Palestinians in the Israeli jails is “harsher” than the way inmates are treated in the notorious US-run prisons of Guantanamo Bay in southeastern Cuba and Abu Ghraib in Iraq.

A report by the United Nations has accused Israel of abusing detained Gazans.
