Leaked video footage from surveillance cameras shows a group of Israeli reservist soldiers sexually assaulting a Palestinian detainee from Gaza in the notorious Israeli detention camp Sde Teiman.

A pair of Palestinian prisoners' rights groups says two Palestinian prisoners from the Gaza Strip have died from torture in Israeli detention centers.

Doctors from Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI) told the paper 12 Palestinians from the West Bank and the occupied territories have died from abuse since October 7, 2023.

Dr Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital, and other freed prisoners have spoken of dreadful torture and abuse against Palestinians inside Israeli prisons.

The report was released by the Palestinian Prisoners Society, the Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association and the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs.

An independent and non-governmental rights organization says at least 9,300 Palestinian prisoners are currently being held in Israeli jails and detention centers.

Hamas says the issue of Palestinian prisoners was among the core issues of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm launched by Gaza-based groups on October 7 last year.
