Supporters of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria have staged a protest to mark the fourth anniversary of the 2015 Zaria Massacre.

Four years have passed since more than one thousand people were killed in a massacre in Zaria, Nigeria.

It was the latest in a series of attacks in the northeast.

At least 65 people died in an attack by suspected Takfiris on a group returning from a funeral in Nigeria's northeastern Borno region, state television reported on Sunday (July 28), one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in recent years.

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria refutes accusations of violence raised by the government against the group.

At least one person has been killed as Nigerian security forces attack protesters demanding the release of jailed Muslim cleric Sheikh Zakzaky.

The attack targeted a military base and a nearby community in the Gudumbali area of Borno state.
