Abbas Araghchi says the US is endangering the lives of its forces by deploying them to Israel to operate THAAD missile defense systems.

The US military is sending Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (THAAD) battery and multiple Patriot missile defense systems to West Asia, according to the Pentagon.

South Koreans have been protesting against a US missile base south of the capital, Seoul.

The United States, South Korea, and Japan hold trilateral ballistic missile drills off Hawaii’s coast last week, the US defense department said on Tuesday, amid growing tensions with North Korea and China.

Russia has called the possible deployment of US THAAD missile system to Ukraine as a provocation.

Russia has censured as “a provocation” a reported Ukrainian request for Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile systems from the United States, stressing that considering such supplies would deal a setback to efforts to ease an ongoing crisis between Moscow and the West over Ukraine.

Iran says its homegrown missile defense system Bavar-373 is even stronger than its American counterpart Patriot system.
