The International Committee of the Red Cross has warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen. The head of the Red Cross operations in the Middle East says the four-week bombing campaign by Saudi Arabia has turned the situation in Yemen QUOTE-nothing short of catastrophic. Robert Mardini who just arrived in Geneva from the war-torn nation said Yemenis are facing acute shortage of food and medicines. Mardini said the resilience of the Yemenis has eroded to a breaking point as the country is now living on its reserves. The Red Cross has decided to provide food aid to 20,000 of the most vulnerable families for the next three months. The Geneva-based organization says it would need an extra 15 million dollars for humanitarian aid in Yemen
