Yemeni forces kill 16 Saudi soldiers
Yemen’s Ansarullah fighters and their allied army units continue attacks on Saudi forces in response to Riyadh’s relentless airstrikes on the impoverished nation. In the latest development, 16 Saudi soldiers were killed and four others injured in an ambush attack near the Mash’al base in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan region. In an earlier attack, Yemeni forces killed a number of Saudi troops and seized their weaponry in the same region. The United Arab Emirates also confirmed that 22 of its soldiers were killed in the eastern Yemeni province of Ma’rib. The UAE says the soldiers were killed after a surface-to-surface missile targeted an ammunition store there. The Emirati forces were helping the Saudi military campaign against Yemen.

Saudi warplanes kill 8 in Yemen
More people lose their lives in Yemen as Saudi Arabia continues carrying out air strikes across the impoverished nation in defiance of calls for ending the deadly offensive. At least 5 Yemenis were killed and nearly 10 others were injured in the latest air raids on the northern province of Sa’ada. Three others were also killed in earlier attacks in the province. Elsewhere, Saudi fighter jets also carried out over a dozen strikes on the central province of Ma’rib. In retaliation, Yemen’s Ansarullah fighters and allied army units fired rockets at a Saudi military base in Jizan. Earlier, Yemeni forces launched a Scud missile into the same region. More than five-thousand people have so far been killed since Riyadh unleashed its war on Yemen five months ago.

Saudi, UAE forces join ground fighting in Yemen
Forces loyal to Yemen’s former regime say ground troops from Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates are assisting them in the fight against Ansarullah. Former regime loyalists say the foreign troops have been supporting them in their offensive to seize Yemen’s largest air base, al-Anad. They say a military brigade from the UAE landed in the southern city of Aden just days before the offensive was launched on Monday. They’ve brought with them tanks and other armored vehicles. Now troops loyal to Yemen’s fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi claim that they've seized the base. But Ansarullah fighters and allied army troops say they've repelled the attack and remain in control. Al-Anad air base is located in Lahij province, north of the strategic city of Aden.
