Iran FM Zarif attends parl. cmte. on nuclear conclusion reached with P5+1
Iran’s foreign minister attends a special meeting of a parliamentary committee tasked with reviewing the nuclear conclusion reached between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries. During the session which lasted for several hours, Mohammad Javad Zarif answered questions raised by the lawmakers regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or the JCPOA reached in Vienna back in July. Deputy foreign ministers Abbas Araqchi, Majid Takht-e Ravanchi and Hassan Qashqavi were also present in the session. On August 19, the Iranian Parliament appointed 15 lawmakers as members of an ad hoc committee tasked with reviewing the agreement. Talking to reporters after Sunday’s meeting, Araqchi said the session was effective in clearing ambiguities about the deal.
