"Iran will halt implementation of nuclear deal if past issues not resolved"
Tehran says it will halt enforcing the nuclear deal with the P5+1 unless the International Atomic Agency fully closes its investigation regarding Iran’s past nuclear activities.
The IAEA is expected to give its final assessment on the PMD file on December 15. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says Tehran and the agency are holding a wrap-up meeting before the announcement to make sure everything is in check. He was in the Austrian capital Vienna until Tuesday for talks on the ongoing probe. However, Araqchi said the United Nations Security Council has the final say on the issue, and NOT the IAEA, and its director general Yukiya Amano. On July 14, Iran and the permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany sealed a nuclear deal that will lift anti-Iran sanctions once implemented. Tehran in return will cap its nuclear activities.
