While Europe reduced Ibn Sina (Avicenna) to a rational medical and philosophical authority detached from his faith, Ibn Sina was in fact an Islamic polymath who rooted his metaphysics in Quranic theology and Islam-influenced "Eastern wisdom" that the West never translated.
