French Parliament discusses new law on surveillance
Just days after the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris, the French government announced it will create a new law to curb terrorism by boosting surveillance in the country. Several official reports pointed out at loopholes in the existing laws that allowed French nationals to join terrorist groups like ISIL and al-Qaeda.
