A fringe political party provocatively invited Reza Pahlavi, son of Iran’s last Shah, to an event held in Frankfurt shielded from the wider public on Saturday, despite the city and major political parties distancing themselves from it, while several hundred people rallied outside against Pahlavi and in support of the Islamic Republic.
