Writer and Researcher Nick Mottern warns that despite Donald Trump’s temporary retreat to launch a major attack on Iran, the United States may launch a more intense attack within days.
Mottern rejects claims by US politicians that Iran is becoming more willing to negotiate, saying the reality on the ground contradicts such statements.
According to him, Trump and Netanyahu are not seeking diplomacy but rather searching for a pretext to justify further military action — even invoking the Strait of Hormuz to persuade the American public to accept high costs and casualties.
The analyst warns that any escalation would be disastrous for the region, saying that without a diplomatic solution, the consequences would be severe for both West Asia and the United States.
