Trump’s disapproval rating sets record of 59% amid aggression on Iran: Poll

US President Donald Trump’s disapproval rating has hit 59 percent, the highest it has been in either of his two terms, a new poll says, as anti-war sentiment is running high across the United States over Washington’s unprovoked war of aggression on Iran.

The results of a poll conducted by Fox News showed on Wednesday that nearly 60 percent of Americans disliked Trump’s performance, a disapproval figure that is the highest since he was first elected in 2016.
According to the poll, a whopping 59 percent of respondents said that they disapprove of Trump’s performance as president, while 47 percent of them stressed that they “strongly disapprove.”

The survey, conducted between March 20 and March 23, also showed that only 41 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s performance as president.

The Fox News survey further tracked down Trump’s war on Iran and its negative impact on the US economy as the main culprit that has sent his popularity into free fall.

The poll revealed that only 42 percent of respondents back the ongoing war, while independents support the aggression at a clip of just 28 percent.

On Tuesday, results of a poll by Reuters even showed a nightmarish approval rating of 36 percent for the 47th president of the United States.

A US-Israeli military coalition has commenced an unprovoked war of aggression on Iran since February 28, killing Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior officials and military commanders as well as countless of civilians.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting US bases in the region and Israeli positions in the occupied territories with waves of ballistic missile strikes and drone attacks. 
Anti-war sentiment is growing in the US as the Trump administration has failed to justify the war and its prospects.

The administration officials mainly focus on the alleged nuclear threat that Iran has purportedly posed. But this rationale is in direct contradiction to Trump’s claim that he “totally obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program by striking its main facilities at the end of the 12-day war back in June last year.

The current war has raised fuel prices worldwide, including the US, as Iran’s Armed forces tightly control the strategic Strait of Hormuz, making it almost impassable for scores of tankers belonging to the aggressors or their supporters.
