Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and his Omani counterpart have discussed the implementation and arrangements for the third round of Tehran-Washington negotiations, scheduled for April 26 in Muscat, Oman.
Araghchi, who is leading the Iranian technical-expert delegation, met twice with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi to finalize the preparations.
Earlier on Friday, Araghchi arrived in Muscat and held meetings with Omani officials ahead of the upcoming talks.
During the third round, experts from both sides are expected to begin detailed discussions on the technical aspects of a potential agreement to replace the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Iran’s technical delegation will be headed by Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi.

On the US side, Michael Anton, head of policy planning at the State Department, will lead the technical discussions.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei reiterated in a post on his X account Friday that the “Termination of unlawful and inhumane sanctions” remains a key priority for the Iranian negotiating team.
The second round of indirect talks between Iran and the US was held on Saturday, April 19, in Rome at the Embassy of Oman, with Oman acting as mediator.
Shortly after the Rome talks concluded, Araghchi posted on X, describing the atmosphere as “relatively positive,” which, he said, “has enabled progress on principles and objectives of a possible deal.”
He also stated that the Iranian delegation conveyed a broadly held view in Tehran that “the JCPOA is no longer good enough,” adding, “what remains from that deal are lessons learned.”
The first round of indirect negotiations took place on Saturday, April 19, in Muscat, where both sides discussed the framewok and the format of negotiations and agreed to continue talks.
