The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), a pro-Palestine advocacy organization, has filed a criminal complaint in Germany against a German-Israeli tank commander accused of committing war crimes in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The HRF announced in a post on social media platform X on Saturday that it has submitted the complaint against Barel Kriel to the German authorities.

He stands accused of bombing a civilian car in Gaza and filming it burning, with its occupants still inside, among other crimes.

According to the organization, Kreil is currently on German soil, yet the prosecutor refuses to investigate.

The case is the latest in a series of lawsuits brought by the HRF, which has been pursuing justice for the Palestinian victims of the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

The group has filed several complaints in various countries against Israeli forces who participated in the genocidal war on Gaza. It also filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against 1,000 Israeli soldiers.

The foundation is named after Hind Rajab, a symbol of Gaza's suffering.

The six-year-old Hind Rajab was killed by an Israeli tank in 2024 as she hid for safety in Gaza.

Israel launched the campaign of genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, killing more than 50,000 Palestinians.

Last January, the Israeli regime was forced to agree to a ceasefire deal with Hamas, given the regime’s failure to achieve any of its objectives, including the “elimination” of the Palestinian resistance movement or the release of captives.

Since March 18, the regime has launched strikes on Gaza, breaking the ceasefire and prisoner-captive exchange agreement that had lasted nearly two months.
