Russian general targeted as deadly blast hits Moscow residential building

General Armen Sarkisyan, “president of the Boxing Federation of the DPR” and creator of the "Arbat" battalion.

An explosion has hit an apartment complex in northwestern Moscow, leaving at least one person dead and several others injured, including a high-ranking Russian general.

Armen Sarkisyan, “president of the Boxing Federation of the DPR” and creator of the “Arbat” battalion, was seriously injured in the Monday blast, law enforcement agencies confirmed.

The explosion, which was caused by an unidentified device, occurred when Sarkisyan was walking through the hall of one of the buildings of the housing estate with his guards.

According to the latest information published by Russian telegram channels, shrapnel from the explosive device tore off one of Sarkisyan’s legs. He is reportedly in a coma now.

His bodyguards who were injured in the explosion are in critical condition.

Sarkisyan is on the notorious Ukrainian state-linked Mirotvorets (Peacemaker) database, often described as Kiev’s “kill list.”

The database describes Sarkisyan as a “traitor” collaborating with Russia, as well as “an accomplice to the crimes of the Russian government against Ukraine and its citizens.”

No group, including any Ukraine-affiliated groups, has yet accepted the responsibility for this attack.
