Netizens mock Israeli aggression, praise Iran’s air defense strength

Social media users have reacted to Israel’s early-morning aggression against Iran, mocking the scale of the attacks and commending Iran’s formidable air defense capabilities.

Early on Saturday, Iranian officials said that sounds heard in parts of Tehran were due to the activation of Iranian air defenses targeting “adversarial objects in the airspace surrounding Tehran province.”

Israeli media attempted to amplify the attack’s significance, framing it as a successful operation.

However, users on X responded with sarcasm to the Israeli aggression and praised Iran’s robust air defenses, which effectively thwarted the Israeli aggression.

משה موشي Moshi, a journalist, commended Iran’s air defense response to the Israeli aggression, stating, “Iran has proven that it has strong air defenses.”

US-based geopolitical analyst Will Schryver took to X, summarizing the Israeli aggression and Iran’s air defense response.

He noted that despite Israel launching “a lot of missiles… there are no firm reports nor video evidence (so far) of big strikes on any significant Iranian targets.”

“Here’s what I have observed at this point in relation to the Israeli strikes against Iran:

- The Israelis launched a lot of missiles -- all from maximum stand-off distance.

- Iran put up a LOT of air defense missiles.

“Israeli strikes on Iran apparently failed to cause any significant damage, but Israeli propaganda is desperate to sell the attack as a huge success. This pathetic display is how they’re trying to save face after getting wrecked in Lebanon this week.”

Researcher and scholar Helyeh Doutaghi issued a concise post addressing Israel’s act of aggression against the Islamic Republic. She described Israeli and US bases in the region as “legitimate targets.”

“The US and Israel have just committed an act of war against Iran. Every US and Israeli base in the region is a legitimate target.”

Robert Inlakesh, a filmmaker and journalist based in Palestine, highlighted the media hype surrounding attempts to exaggerate the scale of Israel’s aggression toward Iran.

“Israel’s attack on Iran has so far been very weak, to the point of an embarrassment on the media front. Either they will launch another attack & this is a trick, or this is an attempted face-saving retreat, hence Israel sharing videos/photos from years ago. Hard to read.”
