Hezbollah has announced launching an airstrike on Tel Nof airbase south of Tel Aviv with a squadron of attack drones, achieving a direct hit.
Hezbollah regularly announces the targeting of Israeli military facilities but its statement Saturday that it launched "an aerial attack with drones" against Tel Nof base was the first of its kind in one year.
It also fired a barrage of rockets at Israeli forces near a village in southern Lebanon, where the Israeli army has carried out ground incursions for weeks.
The resistance group said in a statement that its fighters launched a "salvo of rockets" at Israeli soldiers on the outskirts of the village of Aita al-Shaab, the scene of regular clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces over the past two weeks.
Sirens sounded in the northern flank of the occupied Palestinian territories due to the penetration threat of bomb-laden drones launched by the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement.
Drone alerts were activated in the northern coastal cities of Nahariya and Acre on Saturday.
Warning sirens also sounded in the Mateh Asher, Ma’ale Yosef, the illegal Klil settlement as well as Ein Ya’akov moshav in the western Galilee and Upper Galilee regions.
Moreover, sirens rang in Metula town, Kiryat Shmona settlement, Kfar Yuval moshav and surrounding settlements in the northern district of the Israeli-occupied lands due to fears of drone infiltration from southern Lebanon.
Sounds of explosions were heard in a number of areas in the central Galilee region following the activation of drone sirens.
These come as Hezbollah said in a brief statement that its fighters had targeted the settlement of Kiryat Shmona with a rocket barrage.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed responsibility for a drone attack on a key Israeli target in the strategic Jordan Valley in retaliation for ongoing Israeli military offensives in Gaza and Lebanon.
Earlier, the umbrella group of anti-terror fighters announced that it struck a key target in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, deploying drones as part of its retaliation against the Tel Aviv regime’s criminal acts in Gaza and Lebanon.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq also carried out a drone attack on a strategic military installation at Acre city in the northern Israeli-occupied territories.
The Iraqi resistance alliance has been conducting numerous such operations against sensitive targets lying across the occupied territories since October 7 last year, when the Israeli regime began waging a genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
At least 42,874 Palestinians, most of them women and children, have been killed in the brutal Israeli military onslaught so far.
The coalition has also carried out retaliatory attacks against the US occupation bases across Iraq and neighboring Syria due to Washington’s unbridled political, military, and intelligence support for Israel’s atrocities in Gaza.
