An Iraqi official has hailed the “steadfastness and courage” of the Yemeni people in defending the oppressed people of the Gaza Strip.

The retaliatory operations by Yemen continue in support of Palestinians in the besieged Palestinian territory amid Israel’s genocidal war.

Abu Alaa al-Walae, the secretary-general of the Sayyed Al-Shuhada Brigades in the Popular Mobilization Forces of Iraq, made the remarks in a message to Yemen's Ansarullah leader Sayyed Abdel-Malik al-Houthi on Sunday.

Walee went on to say that the high status of the Yemenis is because of “the qualities of courage, steadfastness, and boldness” that Yemeni people have demonstrated throughout the years.

“Your historical stance in defending the oppressed people in occupied Palestine, disregarding all the tyrants, and standing against the Zionist occupation, is a conclusive proof of the nobility of your souls and the firmness of your faith,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Houthi warned Israel that Yemen is more capable than ever of dealing blows to the occupying regime, as the Arab country’s retaliatory operations continue in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The Ansarullah chief also said “Yemeni people are pleased to be in direct confrontation with the Israeli enemy, and they are steadfast and brave people,” stressing that Israel cannot stop Yemen’s support for Gaza.

Houthi’s remarks came a day after Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes against fuel storage facilities in Yemen's strategic western province of Hudaydah, leaving six civilians dead.

The Israeli strikes were carried out in retaliation for an earlier drone strike by Yemeni armed forces against the occupying entity.

The drone hit an area near a US consular facility in Tel Aviv early on Friday, killing one person and injuring 10 others as the Israeli air defenses failed to intercept the drone.

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7.

Yemeni Armed Forces have said that they won’t stop their attacks until Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, which have killed nearly 39,000 people and wounded virtually 90,000, come to an end.
