Hezbollah field commander killed in Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon

The Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement says a field commander of the group was killed after the Israeli military carried out an airstrike targeting his vehicle in southern Lebanon close to the border with the 1948 occupied territories.

In a statement, Hezbollah said that Muhammad Mustafa Ayoub had been killed in the Israeli drone strike on the outskirts of Selaa village in the Tyre district on Monday.

The statement added that his death brings to 343 the number of Hezbollah fighters killed ever since the Tel Aviv regime began to conduct attacks on southern Lebanon in October last year after it launched its genocidal war on Gaza.

Earlier in the day, Israeli aircraft fired two missiles on the border town of Mays al-Jabal as artillery shelling hit the border towns of Khiam, Kfar Hamam, Rashaya al-Fukhar and Kfarkela, as well as the Marjeyoun plain.

A few airstrikes and intermittent artillery shelling had also targeted several Lebanese border towns on Sunday.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah warns of ‘decisive’ response to Israeli expansion of war

A senior official of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has warned the Israeli regime of a “decisive” response in case of expanding the scope of its war on Lebanese soil.

Hezbollah has been carrying out almost daily rocket attacks on Israeli positions in retaliation for the regime’s aggression against Lebanon and in solidarity with Palestinians.

The genocidal war in Gaza has killed at least 37,347 Palestinians, predominantly women and children so far.

At least 455 people have also been killed on the Lebanese border, including more than 80 civilians, according to a tally by AFP.

Two Israeli wars waged against Lebanon in 2000 and 2006 were met with strong resistance from Hezbollah, resulting in the retreat of the regime in both conflicts.
