Wounded Palestinians were evacuated by ambulance teams in Rafah on Saturday (June 1) as Israeli tanks continue probing attacks across the southern Gaza city.
At least two were killed and few injured in an airstrike by Israeli quadcopter and tanks shelling, paramedics said.
Israeli tanks advanced to the heart of Rafah for the first time on Tuesday (May 28), defying an appeal from the International Court of Justice to end its attack on the city, one of the last places of refuge in Gaza.
Thousands of Palestinians had been sheltering in Tel Al-Sultan after Israeli forces began a ground offensive in the east of Rafah over two weeks ago.
More than 36,379 Palestinians have been confirmed killed and 82,407 have been injured in the Israeli military offensive on Gaza since Oct. 7, the Gaza health ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
Some 95 Palestinians were killed and 350 injured in the past 24 hours, the ministry added. The ministry says thousands of other dead are most likely lost in the rubble of the enclave.
