Iran, Saudi Arabia explore new ties

Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was in Saudi Arabia on August 17 on his first visit to the kingdom since the historic reconciliation between the two countries earlier this year.

During a joint press conference following the talks, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan stressed the importance of enhancing the scope of cooperation with the Islamic Republic and continuing consultations during the upcoming stages.

Meanwhile, a holy shrine in Iran's southern city of Shiraz came under a second deadly attack in less than a year with another terrorist breaking into its grounds and opening fire.

Last week, spokesman of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Brigadier General Ramadan Sharif announced that a number of foreign intelligence agencies were behind the Shah Cheragh attack. According to the latest news, the arrested terrorist is a citizen of one of Iran's neighboring countries.
