People turned out en masse in Isfahan to bid farewell to three security forces who lost their lives in the street violence gripping several Iranian cities in recent weeks.

The mourners condemned the killings, urging authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice. The terrorist act took place in the north of Isfahan on the 16th of November, when two armed men on a motorbike opened fire at the security forces, killing one law enforcement officer and two members of the Volunteer Basij Force.

It happened amid clashes between police and rioters. The Intelligence Service of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the IRGC, says it has identified and arrested those behind the incident. Iran says the unrest is a plot hatched by the West, particularly the US.

People say they will not tolerate any harm to their country's national security. They called on rioters to calm down, as they said the continuation of the unrest will only serve the interests of Iran's enemies.
