Chief Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami says the United States is drawing constant plans to install puppet governments but all such schemes are collapsing “like dominos.”
“America’s political territory is dwindling and witnessing failure,” Salami said in a meeting with the IRGC’s political managers on Sunday.
He pointed to the US failures in Afghanistan, Syria, and Egypt, as well as various plots the US pursued in vain in cooperation with the Israeli regime, adding, “These cases are signs that herald a big event, which is the [total] defeat of the US.”
Enemies are currently unable to help each other and are disintegrated and disunited, the IRGC chief said.
Salami also said both Saudi Arabia and the US are unable to do anything for each other, adding, “Saudi Arabia, which used to help America with money, has lost its ability to solve its own economic problems today.”
Pointing to US President Joe Biden’s visit to the Middle East earlier this month, the IRGC commander emphasized that the trip failed to bring about any achievement for Washington.
Biden visited the Israeli-occupied territories earlier this month and met with the Israeli officials as well as Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
He later traveled to Saudi Arabia to hold meetings with King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and other high-ranking officials.
Speaking at the GCC+3 summit in the Saudi port city of Jeddah on Saturday, Biden said America would not leave the Middle East, saying any vacuum left would be filled by Washington’s rivals.
However, observers have noted that the visit failed to achieve Washington’s goals such as pushing Saudi Arabia to increase its oil output as well as forming an anti-Iran coalition with the help of the Israeli regime and some Arab countries.
US failed to impose unipolar world order: Ex-IRGC chief
A former IRGC chief commander also said on Sunday that the US has failed to impose a unipolar world order over the past 30 years, adding, “The reasons behind the failure of the US and NATO can be seen in [their] escape from Afghanistan and their imminent withdrawal from Iraq and Syria.”
Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, who is now a top military adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, further said the fact that the Americans escaped from Afghanistan and have reacted passively to the Russian offensive in Ukraine reveals that the “US power is on the decline.”
He said the US has lost its political and economic power and its influence in international developments, adding that the gap between former US president Donald Trump and Biden still exists in the country and would probably show its consequences in the next presidential election.
The senior official noted that the US and its allies have spent trillions of dollars over the past 30 years to expel Western-backed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein's occupying forces from Kuwait after the 1991 military attack.
Rahim Safavi emphasized that China and Russia have succeeded in boosting their power in the face of the US decline.
