Yemen: seven years of Saudi war

Yemen marks the seventh anniversary of the Saudi-led war on the country. On March 26, 2015 Saudi Arabia launched the bloody war against Yemen in collaboration of a number of its allies and with arms and logistics support from the US and several Western states.

Riyadh and its allies also imposed heavy blockade on Yemen. The objective was to return to power the former Riyadh-backed regime headed by Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and to crush the popular Ansarullah Resistance Movement.

However, the war has stopped well shy of all its goals despite killing hundreds of thousands of Yemenis and turning Yemen into the scene of the worlds worst humanitarian crisis.

In this edition, Spotlight interviews Hussein al-Bukhaiti Yemeni activist and political commentator from Sanaa and Richard Becker with ANSWER Coalition from San Francisco on the seventh anniversary of the Saudi-led war on Yemen.
