A shooting at a popular tourist spot in Miami, Florida has left at least seven people wounded.
According to Miami Police Department spokeswoman Kiara Delva on Saturday, police officers were dispatched to the art-filled Wynwood neighborhood after being notified through gunshot detection alert system,
Delva said that police arrived at the crime scene shortly before midnight where they found several people with apparent gunshot wounds who were immediately transferred to the University of Miami Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital. The conditions of those wounded were not immediately clear.
Delva told reporters that the investigation was ongoing.
It remains unknown whether police had a suspect or anyone in custody.
The Miami shooting comes amid a spate of gun attacks that has renewed debates at highest levels about the need for more restrictive gun laws.
