NBA: Brooklyn Nets 128-116 San Antonio Spurs

Over the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets have extended their winning run to 3 matches after edging past the San Antonio Spurs 128 to 116 at Barclays Center.

The hosts hammered the Spurs 35 to 20 in the opener, before losing the next quarter with a 9-point margin. However, they got the upper hand with a 58 to 51 lead at the intermission. The Nets re-grouped after the break and took the 3rd quarter 39 to 30 to widen the gap to 16 points.

The Spurs were not giving up though, as they took the final quarter with a 3-point margin, but that was as far as they could go and the Nets, who already clinched a spot in the Playoffs, registered their 46th victory of the season. The Nets will welcome the Bulls on Friday, while the Spurs travel to New York to meet the Knicks on Thursday.

In the meantime, Western Conference Leaders the Utah Jazz suffered a 105 to 98 home defeat against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Blazers, who are in contention to grab a seat in the playoffs, dominated the match as they went to their locker room with an 84 to 76 advantage at the end of the 3rd quarter. Despite their single point loss in the final quarter, they managed to earn their 5th win in a row.
