Worst ever social crisis in EU will deepen further

The unparalleled economic crisis in the European Union, fueled by the covid-19 pandemic, will get even worse, the European Commission warns. Many of the bloc's lawmakers claim the commission's policies have failed millions of EU citizens.

The gap between the rich and poor in the EU is growing. Unions accuse employers of using the pandemic as an excuse to cut staff and pay less. A stark economic assessment has been delivered in the European Parliament.
