MotoGP: Rins wins Aragon, Mir takes championship lead

In Motorsports, Suzuki’s Alex Rins has claimed his first victory of the season to lead an all-Spanish podium at the Aragon MotoGP in Spain. 

There was a neck and neck challenge between Rins and his countryman Alex Marquez of Honda in the final five laps, but the Suzuki rider held off Marquez and took the checkered flag after 41 minutes and 54.391 seconds to become the 8th different winner after 10 races this season.

Meanwhile, another Suzuki rider from Spain Joan Mir finished third to take the championship lead from pole sitter Fabio Quartararo, who finished 18th.

Mir now sits at the top of the World Championship standings with 121 points, while Quartararo and Maverick Vinales are in second and third with 109 and 106 points respectively.

The 11th race of the season will take place on the same circuit next Sunday.
