US efforts to keep sanctions

Can US’s pressure force Iran to leave the NPT? The US has Presidential elections upcoming; in November to be exact. And Iran has had a draft resolution passed against it, by the United Nations nuclear watchdog or IAEA. But Iran and the IAEA have enjoyed meticulous relations since the nuclear deal of 2015. So what went wrong?

By way of the Nuclear Deal or JCPOA, the UN’s 5-year arms embargo on Iran terminates in October 2020. US elections are upcoming and President Trump doesn’t have much to show for his term in office. So he’s putting a new spin on sanctions against Iran, it would seem.

Just recently, the IAEA, which has confirmed Iran’s full cooperation with the agency several times, has passed a resolution against Iran based on wrong information presented by the US and Israel. All these have put Iran on the verge of leaving the NPT and putting an end to all the actions it does voluntarily to show its good will.
