Trafalgar square, central London. Black Lives Matter protesters here yet again to stage a peaceful protest against police brutality and racial injustice against people of color, in particular black Britons.

What happened with 17th century slave trader Edward Colston statue and of war time Prime Minister Winston Churchill touched a nerve.

Despite leaders on both sides of the protests calling off today’s event to avoid a clash, more than a hundred on either side decided to come. The BLM protesters here say they had to come and take a stand:

It didn’t take long for the peaceful protest to take a violent turn. Instigators from the ranks of hooligans and other extremist groups provoking the BLM protesters. Within minutes, yellow vested riot police stepped in.

These BLM protesters say, this is not a fight between black and fight. That all they’re asking for is an acknowledgment of the injustices of the past, and an end to the inequalities of the present.
