Palestinians held fresh rallies against the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip following Friday prayers.

Israeli forces responded to the peaceful action, which came as part of the Great March of Return, with live fire and tear gas injuring dozens of protesters including children.

In March of this year, a United Nations fact-finding mission found that Israeli forces committed grave rights violations during their crackdown on Palestinian protesters in Gaza that may amount to war crimes.

Israeli troops have killed hundreds of Palestinians since the beginning of the rallies and wounded some 18,000 others.

Palestinians have been holding the Great March of Return rallies almost every week since March 30th 2018 to demand the right of return for Palestinian refugees who were driven out of their homeland by Israeli forces and to call for the lifting of the Israeli blockade.

Palestinians here say the Israeli regime’s use of excessive force against peaceful demonstrations will not discourage them from attending the weekly protests as they are determined to press for their right of return to their homeland.
