US slaps sanctions on Turkey over Syria offensive

Washington has imposed sanctions on two Turkish ministries and three senior government officials over Ankara’s military offensive in northern Syria. Turkey began the operation last week to create a buffer zone free of Kurdish militants. The offensive was launched after the US withdrew its troops from the area.
