South Korea: Pro-Japan rally calls on President Moon to resign over trade row
Pro-Japanese demonstrators gathered at in Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, on Saturday, to call on South Korean President Moon Jae-in to resign over the ongoing trade row with Japan.
"Moon Jae made the problems, so I say Moon Jae-in apologize to the Japanese government and you step down," one protester said.
"I don't like anti-Japan because that has ruined our economy and Japan is our friend actually," another protester added.
The trade row began last month after a Seoul court ordered Japanese steel companies to pay reparations to forced laborers, dating back to Japan's occupation during WWII.
Tokyo responded by tightening restrictions on tech exports to South Korea and removing Seoul from its 'White list' of countries granted preferential trade tariffs.
The trade row increased tensions between the two nations and many South Koreans protested against Japan.

Demonstrators could be seen holding signs calling on the president to resign, a 'Moon Out Party' was also held at the protest, some Anti-Japanese counter-protesters were also in attendance.
