"What we need to do in the meanwhile is contain the humanitarian crisis which we already have, contain the sanitary emergency which will get worse," said the leader of the National Assembly.

Venezuela has been in the midst of a political crisis since January, when opposition leader Guaido declared himself "Interim-President" in a move that was rapidly recognized by the US, as well as several European and Latin American nations.
