Bodycam captures Las Vegas police officer shooting at suspects through windshield

Las Vegas police released body camera footage on Monday capturing officer William Umana shooting through the windshield of a patrol car during the pursuit of suspects, in Las Vegas.

The incident between Umana and suspects of homicide occurred on July 11. During the shoot-out, Umana reportedly fired a total of 31 rounds while the suspects, identified as Fidel Miranda and Rene Nunez, fired a total of 34 rounds, according to the police.

The pursuit ended with the suspects crashing their vehicle. One of the suspects reportedly attempted to flee the scene after the car came a halt but was caught and taken into custody. The second suspect died of his injuries in the hospital.

Police say the chase began after they spotted the suspects in a stolen SUV. The two men were suspects in a homicide, which took place two hours prior to the pursuit, during which a man was shot dead at a car wash.
