An activist believes the United States hatched the ongoing war in Syria in order to put forward its regime change policy by using foreign proxies.

“The way the United States is fighting wars these days is by using proxy armies and ... mercenaries,” and “it is clear that they (the American politicians) still have a regime change agenda for Syria,” Joe Lombardo told Press TV on Saturday.

The conflict in Syria is “not a civil war” as claimed through the narrative of the US news media, the co-coordinator of the United National Antiwar Coalition noted.

According to Lombardo, this is a war on Syria from outside and it includes people from up to 80 different countries.

A US-backed militant group in Syria has recently released European terrorists under secret prisoner swap deals with Daesh extremists, Britain’s The Telegraph reported on Friday.
