Donald Trump is the only US president who has acknowledged and nearly prided himself on his own misogyny, according to Myles Hoenig, an American political analyst and activist.
Social media users have slammed Trump for ignoring his own history on sexual misconduct and staying largely silent about mounting sexual abuse allegations against Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore while weighing in on the sexual harassment claim against Democratic Senator Al Franken.
Senator Franken of Minnesota apologized Thursday after being accused of sexually harassing journalist Leeann Tweeden in 2006. During his time as a comedian, which included two stints on Saturday Night Live from 1975-1980 and 1985-1995, Franken often made vulgar jokes about women.
Calling the senator “Al Frankenstein,” Trump referred to a 1995 incident when Franken proposed a sketch in which he would appear to drug and rape journalist Lesley Stahl.
Hoenig, a former Green Party candidate for Congress, told Press TV on Saturday that it is “so hard to tell if Trump is astonishingly stupid or simply oblivious to political realities. Trump, the only president to actually acknowledge and nearly pride himself on his own misogyny, condemns Sen. Franken for being the latest male ‘superstar’ to be outed for being a sexist pig yet remains quiet about Judge Roy Moore and his alleged pedophilia.”
“Maybe it’s because he identifies so well with Moore. A 30’s plus white male seducing a 14 year old is no different than Trump with some quite lewd pictures of his little girl (Ivanka) on his lap, or when on the Howard Stern radio show he talked about how he would date his daughter if he could, because she looked so pretty,” he stated.
“It’s mind boggling the amount of support Moore is getting from his constituents and how little pushback from the very same people for Trump for supporting Moore. These Alabamans pride themselves on being Christians but like the religious hypocrites they are, they use their religious beliefs to justify Moore’s actions or find reason to find forgiveness,” he added.
“The rest of America, and likely the world, see right through all of this. President Trump is shameless in his support of degenerate behavior, whether it be the predatory stalking of teenagers by an adult male as the Judge was known to do or even supporting a tax bill designed to enrich the very wealthy like himself, his family and all Congress members by punishing the very poor even more than being done right now,” he said.
“A reasonable person would think that this could be Trump’s undoing, as it brings back all those politically embarrassing stories of Trump and his sexual predation. But whether Moore wins or not next month, this will all go away,” the analyst noted.
“Franken supported his Party during the primaries over the wishes of his own constituents in Minnesota by using his super delegate vote for Clinton when Sanders won his state by 22%. The party owes him a favor and will find a way to keep him in the Senate, try and use this to their political advantage against Trump but then likely find a war with ‘Nambia’ as the best way to deflect all this messy stuff,” Hoenig said.
“Trump’s hypocrisy will be forgotten for the moment and only chalked up as another, ‘Oh, well!’ moment in history,” he concluded.
