Strange case of Lebanese PM Sa’ad Hariri

It’s a totally unheard of case. The legal prime minister of a country being invited by another state and held against his will there so that he is forced into resignation. Never has this happened in the past. Not even in ancient times. Nearly all Lebanese political factions and ordinary citizens believe Saudi Arabia is holding their Prime Minister Sa'ad Hariri forcibly. The reaction: anger on the part of the citizens.

Trump at loggerheads with US international agencies

US President Donald Trump told reporters while on a tour in Asia that he believes remarks by his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that he had not meddled in US presidential election last year. “Every time he sees me he says, ‘I didn’t do that,’ and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it,” Trump emphasized. But his remarks have put him at odds with US intelligence agencies, which have concluded otherwise. This has now raised serious questions as to the reason behind his denial and his implicit support for President Putin.
