Iranian judoka Mohammad Mohammadi Barimanlou has demonstrated notable athletic skills at the Hohhot Grand Prix 2017 in China, and collected a bronze medal at the international sporting event.

On Saturday, the 23-year-old judo practitioner outfoxed Dirk Van Tichelt, a representative from Belgium, in his last under 73-kilogram weight class contest and ranked third.

Chinese judoka SaiYinjirigala downed 23-year-old Canadian competitor Arthur Margelidon and won the gold medal.

The Hohhot Grand Prix 2017 opened in China on June 30 and will conclude on July 2, 2017.

The tournament has brought together a total of 225 male and female judokas from 26 countries, including Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, Germany, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Mongolia, the Netherlands, North Korea, Russia, South Korea and Ukraine.

It is the final International Judo Federation (IJF) World Judo Tour event before the 2017 Suzuki World Judo Championships, which are scheduled to be held between August 28 and September 3 in the Hungarian capital city of Budapest.
