The United States and its allies are using more “stalling tactics” in Syria to help Takfiri terrorists regroup and rearm, Scott Rickard, a former American intelligence linguist, told Press TV’s Top 5.

There are several reports, which point out to the US’s support for “al-Nusra Front and other terrorist organizations that have just recently received tremendous amounts of heavy armament from the United States basically through their proxies.”

According to Rickard, the United States is supplying weapons to Takfiri militants because Washington is not seeking ceasefire or peace in Syria.

On September 9, Russia and the US agreed on a ceasefire in Syrian city of Aleppo after marathon talks in the Swiss city of Geneva.

The ceasefire came to an end on September 19 after one week following Damascus’ refusal to extend the deal after deadly US-led air raids on its military base near the eastern city of Dayr al-Zawr in violation of the agreement.

The United States bombed Syrian soldiers in Dayr al-Zawr in a bid to pave the way for rearming terrorist groups in the war-torn Arab country, he argued.

The Western powers are spreading propaganda on the ceasefire in Syria, while the US-led coalition “continues the decimation of the Syrian government” to achieve their goal of toppling the elected government.

The analyst further said France’s proposal for imposing no-fly zone in Syria does not benefit Damascus or Moscow, but the plan has been proposed to help the US move mercenaries to attack Syrian military forces and civilians.

French, British and American officials are working for their “ultimate goal of creating chaos” in Syria, as they did in Libya and now are doing in Yemen, he noted.

On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the US of having been unable to fulfill its obligations on Syria, including unblocking Castello road in the divided city of Aleppo and separating terrorists from the so-called moderate opposition.

Since March 2011, Syria has been hit by militancy it blames on some Western states and their regional allies.
